He ain’t fake

Friday 23rd July 1999 was a very special day for me, personally. It marked two things, 1) Going on National radio in America in front of millions for the first time and 2) Meeting my idle and very good friend Uri Geller for the first time.

Uri invited me, to go on Doug Stephans Good Day USA show, it is a national syndicated breakfast show across America, I accepted the invitation and went. The Location to meet Uri was his lovely Home on the Thames, not too far away from London. We arrived at his house, after letting the excitement build up from driving down the path, and stepped out of the Taxi, wondering what to do next, the front door suddenly opened and out popped Daniel, Uri’s 18 year old son. Daniel then invited us in to the front hall, where we chatted, then out came Uri himself dressed very casually in shorts and a T-shirt, he welcomed us, introduced us to David and Shippi, his brother-in-law, and made us feel at home. We then went for a walk around the grounds of his home. Uri showed us the Gazebo from where he stopped Big Ben and then the rest of his garden. It was then back to the front of his house to show us the famous Limousine that is covered with spoons and forks, from such celebrities as Harry Houdini, John Lennon and many others. I then went back into the house to get my camera, came out and Mum was talking with David, a scientist, who a long time ago did research into Childeren who can to strange things, I took a couple of pictured and left Mum chatting, I then went back into the house and out came Hannah, Uri’s wife from the Kitchen, I had a chat with her and then went back into the room from where Uri and myself were going to do the Broadcast. In the meantime, Mum had managed to find her way into the Kitchen talking with Hannah and Daniel. I then went back in there to see what was happening, Daniel was there and I had a chat with him. It was then time for the broadcast, I left Mum in the Kitchen chatting and joined Uri. Because of the events the previous weekend with JFKjnr, Uri talked about his connection with him. While Uri was chatting, in came Natalie, Uri’s 16 year old daughter to get Mum’s cup of tea, Mum had made herself comfy in the Kitchen! Time passed and then it was time for my radio debut. Doug and myself chatted about the Paranormal, Magic, Me, my magazine and other things for 13 mins, time flew, throughout the interview Mum was busy chatting. It was then time to end the show and Uri said his Good byes.

Then the time had come, for what this whole article is about. Uri then got a spoon and held it by the tips of his fingers. He then gave it a small rub and it started to bend, remember this was an ordinary spoon, it then started to bend, slowly and it carried on bending in my Mums hand. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS WAS NO TRICK, THIS WAS REAL, VERY REAL. I saw it bend with my own eyes, there was no trickery involved what so ever it actually happened and it was beyond belief. I am very opened minded about the paranormal, I have always been and always will be, but after seeing with my own eyes the spoon bend, I have become even more open minded to the fullest. Uri Geller IS NOT a fake, he has never been a fake and never will be a fake. Unfortunately Magicians don’t seem to realise this or that Psychic Phenomenon actually exists. I have a message to every magician out there reading this..IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP and time to come out of the dark ages. Forget all that crappy cups and balls stuff and pulling rabbitts out of a hat, this is the real thing. Uri bending a spoon for me, is perhaps the most important thing to happen to me. YES I am a believer. Now I know why David Blaine believes in Uri Geller, who also saw the spoon bend in his own hand

It was then time to go, for me it was a wonderful experience, which I shall never forget. One very important thing about the Gellers, which must be said. They are all very ordinary and down to earth people, perhaps one of the most ordinary of family’s that you could meet. Uri himself is one of the most kind-hearted and generous person around, that is more important then wondering if he is a fake or not
